What is
GeoBase?
The objective of the GeoBase is to establish an activity
tracking database or management information system (MIS) that can be used to
capture and maintain information on all reconstruction and development
activities being conducted by USAID.This MIS shall require the collection and
use of geographic information in order to enable information on projects to be
represented on maps through use of a Geographic Information System (GIS).
GeoBase was developed considering the scalability in
mind. When the first pilot of the application was released, it did not have all
the features and functionalities that now exist in the application. As the
requirements grew, new features and functionality were gradually added into
GeoBase. The GeoBase contains well-defined and highly normalized back-end
structure that allows any future expansion and improvement with minimum efforts.
